Shriner’s Bluegrass Festival starts today

The 29th Annual Shriner’s Bluegrass Festival starts today at the Shrine Park in Olive Hill. The park is located directly behind Olive Hill Elementary.

Festivities started Friday with Diamond Ridge, South Ridge, Tommy Webb Band and Jonah Riddle and Carolina Express. The same set of performers will take up the stage again from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this evening.

On Friday, attendee’s can expect Sammy Adkins at 1 p.m., Lacey Creek around 1:50 p.m., Turning Ground at 2:40 p.m. and Blue Highway at 3:30 p.m. Performers will then break at 4:15 p.m. for dinner. The same set of performers will start again at 5 p.m. with the addition of Ralph Stanley II and The Clinch Mountain Boys at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Rick Oldfield and Curnie Lee Wilson With Fenced In will start at 2 p.m., Hammertowne at 2:50 p.m., Dave Adkins Band at 3:40 p.m. and Russel Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out at 4:30 p.m. Dinner break will be from 5:15 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. Hammtowne takes up again at 6:50 p.m., David Adkins Band at 7:40 p.m., Larry Sparks and The Lonesome Ramblers at 8:30 p.m. and Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out again at 10:05 p.m.

Weekend passes can be bought for $75 per person.
